11 January 2009 - Stallen in the parish of Nether Compton

A few pictures taken in Gore Lane near Stallen on a cycle ride.

I have cycled through Stallen many times on the way to Nether Compton but I have always stayed on the road. This morning I noticed on the map that there is a green lane running in parallel with the road so this was my route. The picture above shows a typical Dorset green lane. Perhaps this was an old drovers route.

At the same spot as the above photo I found this cave which has some stone work and a gate which was locked. I have no idea what the cave was used for.
