21 February 2009 - Stourhead Garden

An afternoon walk around the garden of this very popular National Trust Property.

A few Canada Geese in the water. On the far side of the lake is the Pantheon.

The Temple of Apollo through the hazy backlight.

This view is looking up the valley of Six Wells Bottom.

Walking back down the valley past the Lily Ponds to the main circular route.

I liked the light catching the green moss on the bough of this old tree. However, as is always the case the human eye gives a much better image than any camera!

The colours at this time of year are very subdued but there is still quite a range.

This farm is not actually in Stourhead Garden but is located about a quarter of a mile down the lane from Stourton.

It does not look like it is still a working farm. It looks almost like a model farm.
