Long Street
East Mill lane and the derelict factory that used to be Westland Engineering.
Seeing this old post box in the wall outside the old post office at the end of Long Street gave me the idea to photograph some of Sherborne’s older post boxes.
Half Moon Street
A closer look at the stonework above the Indian Restaurant shows a few stones with stonemasons marks.
The post box in Half Moon Street. At the bottom of the box it states the manufacturer as the Carron Company of Stirlingshire.

These old buildings are now part of the International School on Coombe Lane.
The plaque reveals that the buildings were once part of Nethercoombe farm and date from the 14th century. Click on the plaque to read it.
