A Saturday afternoon wander around the town.
Nice to see the old Woolworths store with a new lease of life as Wellworths!
Lots of bunting out in South Street
I have never noticed before that this group of three shops with the green tiled front was once a pub.
The brickwork above reads “The New Inn”. Once and Eldridge Pope Inn. Sadly now the old New Inn.
South Street and the United Church with the spire. The United Church is a partnership of the Methodist and United Reform Churches.
The war memorial on the corner of South Street and South Walks Road. The pillar box looks quite old.
Looking down New Street. The old post office is on the left.
The Art Deco Plaza cinema.
Dorchester Museum.
The statue of the Dorset Poet William Barnes outside St Peter’s church. He was a churchwarden here for a while.
