During the weekends leading up to Christmas and New Year the house is illuminated in atmospheric colours and tones. Below are some pictures taken in November and December 2016.
A view from the long driveway. The lights had just been switched on but it was not dark enough for the full effect.
The Orangery and terrace.
This was my favourite colour light which enhanced the natural colour of the stonework.
The Orangery with Christmas lights.
Illuminated pot trees on the western terrace.
Another shot with the nice golden light.
A rather spooky looking blue lit house.
On a second visit we took some shots from the park land.
The event was very popular. The house was also specially decorated inside but we did not go inside.
A nice shade of pink!
December 2017
A return visit in 2017. This time the lighting scheme had been modified. The lighting was much more static with no changing colours.
This year the trees on the main driveway were illuminated.
The western aspect of the house.
The eastern aspect of the house.
This year the pudding houses were illuminated inside with special Christmas themes.
The sweet chestnut trees on the southern lawns.
The crinkly yew hedge.
A very simple Christmas candle display in one of the pudding houses.
How different the golden stone looks.
The freeze in the main hall showing really well with the illumination.
