My first walk around this Dorset village which lies just north of Dorchester. The name Charminster means ‘minster church on the river Cerne’.
Approaching the village church along West Hill.
The village church of St Mary the Virgin. The church dates from the 11th century.
The memorial cross which commemorates the men of the parish who died in the two world wars.
Inside the church. The font is thought to be 12th century.
The 12th century chancel arch.
The sunlight through one of the high level windows in the Nave.
