A visit to Mardale head at the southern end of Hawsewater to see if we could see the resident Golden Eagle.
It was quite busy. We had to park quite a way back up the road. The southern tip of Hawsewater, Mardale Head.
The peninsular sticking out into the reservoir is called speaking crag.
The walk into the valley where the Golden Eagle view point is. The ridge on the skyline is the High Street plateau.
On our way back without having seen the Eagle. Oh well another day perhaps!
Harter Fell beyond Mardale Head.
We found this plant in the stream feeding the reservoir. We have not yet identified it.
