A visit to the National Trust property, Lytes Cary Manor
The gardens were looking very nice but suffering a bit from lack of water.

The manor house was the former home of medieval herbalist Henry Lyte. The great hall in the house dates from the 15th century.
The chapel is the oldest part of the manor and dates from the 14th century.

After a tour of the manor and gardens we followed the riverside walk around the estate. This is a common blue butterfly.
