A visit to the Shillingstone Station restoration project on a wet Sunday morning.

The old station at Shillingstone is currently undergoing restoration. The station used to serve the Somerset and Dorset railway. This is a project scheduled to take 5 years. For more information on the project follow this link.

There is a small shop selling railway memorabilia.

A return visit to the old station at Shillingstone as rest point on a cycle ride from Sturminster Newton on the trailway.

There has been quite a lot of progress on the restoration since my last visit in 2008.

These buildings are new.

The reconstructed signal box.

I am not quire sure if this is a genuine old sign!
