July 2015 - Day 2 of our 2015 Summer holiday in France. An evening walk around Le Mans.
Cathedrale St Julien.
Some photographs from a walk around the old medieval parts of the town.
It was like stepping back in time.
Maison du pilier vert
The low evening sun lighting up this medieval five story building.
From memory I think this was the tourist information building.
A bit of a Turner sky over the town.
Looking down Rue Wilbur Wright.
In each of the alcoves were decorated little gardens.
The sun is setting.
A fine sunset as we walked to the see the old Roman walls.
The Roman wall in the old town of Le Mans is one of the best of its type still extant in France. The 1300m long construction is laid out with 12 towers and wraps around the immaculately preserved Plantagenet Old City.
We were sat waiting for the sound and light show to start.
This is a still shot from the magnificent audio visual light show. This was just one of many light shows around the town. well worth seeing.
